Scott Lipsitz
Co-Founder & CFO
Scott Lipsitz is a seasoned entrepreneur who has spent three decades on the capital side of media, technology, and healthcare — founding companies, financing them, and selling them. At Arcana he leads capital strategy and M&A: structuring the company's financing and its acquisition posture in a category that is consolidating faster than it is maturing.
He was founder and Chief Financial Officer of Arkos Health, which he built from inception to more than $1 billion in annual revenue, 700+ employees, and 400,000 lives under management in four years — bringing in UPMC as strategic investor and directing all financial operations, fundraising, and cap-table management through that expansion. The company grew out of Vizi Health Solutions, which he founded in 2014 and merged into its final form.
His media and IP work runs the length of his career. He founded eScene Networks, one of the first online-video platforms, and sold it to Inktomi/Yahoo. He founded LicenseStream, a content-licensing and rights platform, and Driver Digital, an early multi-channel network. He built the corporate development framework behind roughly $100 million in acquisitions at Velti plc (NASDAQ), and led global cloud services at Kandy/Genband through the company's public-market entry as Ribbon Communications.
Since 1995 he has run Rainmaker Capital, the boutique M&A practice he founded, advising companies in healthcare, enterprise cloud, digital media, and embedded communications on transactions from either side of the table.
He lives in Mill Valley, California, is the proud father of two almost-grown children, and still plays bass professionally.
